Dear pilgrim, it is into your heart that we wish to place a request for appropriate dress and behavior at the places of prayer.
So that a true atmosphere of prayer may be retained, it is very important to be considerate of others around you. For this reason, we ask you to be silent as possible on the hills, in the Church and around the Church. The Hill of Apparitions and Krizevac are places of prayer. Because of this we insist on silence and we would ask you not to disturb others who are praying there. On these places of prayer every unnecessary word should be avoided. Unnecessary and loud conversation disturbs the prayer of others and that is why every serious pilgrim must be truly mindful of this.
In the same time, we ask you to be awere of how you are dressed.
Your clothing must be appropriate and modest. Medjugorje is a place of pilgrimage and noz a turist spot. Different people have diffferent tastes but nonetheless, there is a commonaly accepted norm of decency. All unnecesary exposure of skin should be avoided. Please bring comfortable and decent shoes and clothing. We recommend comfortable shoes for climbing the mountain, they do not have to be hiking boots, they can be sports sneakers or sports sandals. In Medjugorje, sunny and rainy days alternate, for rainy days you can bring a plastic raincoat and shoes for wet weather.
